When asked to do a poster for Kayrock s Fresh Prints, I wanted to produce something that could only be created with screen printing. Mesh started as a piece of used screen printing mesh from the Kayrock studio. I took the scrap, folded it, ripped it and crumpled it into a composition divided into thirds. I then enlarged that composition to be poster size, highlighting the form of the mesh itself. The mesh is then printed as a single screen gradient recalling the tradition of screen printed ephemera s beautiful graduated color backgrounds.
